This is my reverse-engineered launcher disc that is possibly better than the originals, and no supports are needed!

Sobre este modelo
We both know the discs in the box are getting lost in the house, now you can have even more of them lost in the house, and in different colors! Haha! They fly fast and true, maybe even better than the originals. Can easily be printed in about 10-11 minutes. Or you can fill the build plate and get a dozen or more at a time. Reasoning Of all the replacements available I couldn't locate any that have the fully curved "frisbee" profile of the original disc, so I made my own. This one matches the 4mm curved profile of the edge, but reduces the overall weight to 1.9g. For reference the originals were 2.0g on my scale. Designed specifically with 3D printing in mind without the limitations of injection molding. Prints flat on the top for a smooth surface, and the center post is reduced in height, because it is not necessary for it to be full height for functionality. This version benefits from the same geometric reinforcement of the hollow post. Also the change serves as a weight reduction for faster, longer flight. Vertical walls are 0.8mm thick (2 extrusions), and the flat surfaces are 0.64m thick (4 layers of 0.16mm), the overhang of the sides begins at 40 degrees, and slight strain relief has been added to the inside corners. All other key measurements and geometry are taken directly from the original part including the slight overhang of the curved lip of the disc. Recommended Print Settings - Arachne line generator
- 0.4mm nozzle
- 0.16mm layer height (critical for the geometry)
- Random seam
- Material: PLA is more than strong enough, but can be printed in whatever you've got a scrap of
- Print orientation: As model is imported with 'open' side facing up
