Sobre este modelo

A storage and display tray for link0007's "Minimalist contemporary chess set" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3049393). Two trays per set, one for each colour, each holding a full side of 16 pieces standing upright in individual pockets. Same design language as the pieces. Every piece in the set is a short cylindrical plinth, a concave flare and a flat, sharply cut top. The tray repeats exactly that profile: a 2 mm vertical plinth band around the base, a concave flare that narrows towards the top, a flat top face, crisp 45° chamfers at the pocket mouths and a rounded-square footprint. Put the pieces in and the tray reads as the seventeenth piece. Pockets sized from the actual models. The 16 pockets are laid out like the board: R N B Q / K B N R in the back rows, eight pawns in front. Each pocket diameter is the measured base of that piece plus 0.8 mm (0.4 mm per side) and 10 mm deep (6 mm on the 30 mm tray), which matches the straight cylindrical part of every base, so pieces stand without wobble and lift out easily. The piece name is engraved on the floor of each pocket in Century Gothic Bold, a geometric Futura-style face chosen to match the pieces. The underside carries an engraved low-poly origami crane and a small "made with Claude" mark. Two sizes, named like the originals by board square size: tray_50mm_4x4.stltray_30mm_4x4.stl footprint / top face226 × 226 / 212 × 212 mm132 × 132 / 124 × 124 mm thickness, pocket depth16 mm, 10 mm10 mm, 6 mm pockets (pawn / knight / bishop / rook / queen / king)32.7 / 41.7 / 41.3 / 45.3 / 44.8 / 45.018.3 / 23.3 / 23.1 / 25.3 / 25.0 / 25.1 lettering6 mm caps, 0.6 mm deep3.5–4 mm caps, 0.4 mm deep The 50 mm tray needs a 230 mm bed (fits a 256 mm bed with brim). Two 30 mm trays fit on one 256 mm bed together. The photos show the 50 mm tray printed on a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon in light silk PLA, holding the gold side of the set. Printing. Print as oriented, flat side down, no supports: every layer is smaller than the one below, so there are no overhangs anywhere. The underside engraving faces the bed; it is just gaps in the first 2–3 layers that the next layer bridges. Suggested settings: 0.2 mm layers (0.16 mm for the 30 mm tray, for cleaner lettering), 3 walls, 15–20 % gyroid infill, 5 top layers. A matte filament in the opposite tone of the pieces gives the best contrast; a smooth plate shows the underside engraving better than a textured one. If pieces sit too tight on your printer, enable 0.1–0.15 mm X‑Y hole compensation instead of scaling the file.
