🧲 Magnet placement

Look inside each magnet pocket before inserting Pockets with a small extra hole at the bottom → magnets of one polarity Smooth pockets (no extra hole) → magnets of the opposite polarity Following this, every joint attracts correctly and the ring closes

📐 About the model

Truncated icosahedron / soccer-ball geometry (12 pentagons + 20 hexagons) Approx. 64 × 64 × 64 mm A hard one — only one arrangement closes the solid Great as a display piece, fidget and brain teaser

💡 Good to know

Magnets are NOT included — you need 24 magnets (6x3 mm) No glue required (glue optional for a permanent build) Do NOT scale the model — the magnet holes would no longer fit the 6x3 mm magnets Mind magnet polarity while inserting (see placement above) Print with supports; pockets are sized for a snug press-fit

🔁 The solution Curiously, all 12 pieces form one single closed ring — each piece carries exactly 2 magnets, joined end to end. Assembly order:

000 → 002 → 011 → 005 → 006 → 007 → 003 → 001 → 010 → 009 → 004 → 008 → 000 (closes the ring)
