Sobre este modelo
Cogdragon is a chunky print-in-place flexi dragon with a cog-gear tail. It prints flat in one piece: no assembly, no supports, no glue. Snap it off the plate, flex every joint once, and it wiggles. What moves - 18 tail segments that curl both ways and end in an 8-tooth gear
- 4 legs and 2 bat wings on printed hinges (they print flat and fold up)
- 26 moving parts, 25 printed hinges, all captive
Print settings (tested) - Printer: Bambu Lab P2S, 0.4 mm nozzle (the 3MF profile uses the same settings as my test print)
- Filament: PLA (printed in Bambu PLA Lite, grey). Single colour
- Layer height 0.20 mm, 2 walls, 20% infill
- Supports: OFF. Plate: Textured PEI
- Size: about 231 x 136 x 34 mm. Time: about 3-4 h. Filament: about 60 g
Tips - Print at 100% scale. Scaling down shrinks the hinge gaps (0.25 mm XY, 0.4 mm Z) and can fuse the joints.
- Do not add supports. Support material inside a hinge fuses it.
- Right after printing, gently bend each joint once to break it free. Wings and legs then fold up.
- Keep the first layer clean and flat (clean plate, no elephant foot). The hinges start above the first layers so they do not weld to the plate.
The photos and the video are of my own print, straight off the P2S. If you print one, I would love to see a Make! Designed by Giz. Mechanical toys, zero electronics.
