Sobre este modelo

This is the official universal magazine for Silly Shells! This is an open format, for all designers to build blasters around.

Official full-length MegaXL shell version by VestedClover: (LINK COMING SOON) Elastic powered version of the magazines: (Link coming soon. These are almost done, but I'm beta testing them for a few more weeks.)

(And before anyone asks, YES I am working on a Battle Axe remix that uses these mags! It should be all done and released in October! For the sake of keeping everything standardized, please do not make your own Battle Axe remix for these mags until mine is done. It'll be easier for everyone, especially since you'll be able to build off of my work. Thank you!)

This is the one true magazine for Silly Shells. Making other magazines is considered OFF STANDARD and is heavily discouraged (both here and in the original release terms of Silly Shells). The functions of this magazine make it compatible with any method of feeding and usage, and all designers are encouraged to use this magazine in their own blasters!

There are two main versions of this magazine: drum spring powered and elastic powered. - Both the drum spring and elastic versions of this mag are inter-operable and are the same in every way, other than the method being used to move the follower upwards.

- Drum spring magazines are the preferred style, with better reliability (especially in the higher capacity configurations).

Here's some of the features of these magazines, in no particular order: - My mags work completely differently depending on which way you stick them in (front/back or back/front). - One way, it works like the Battle Axe magazine; keeping the shells inside the magazine when firing, and the next shell in the mag helps with the ejection of the previous.

- The other way, the magazine works more like an IRL pistol magazine, where the shell is popped out of the magazine during the forward stroke of the bolt, and is then guided into the chamber by a feed ramp.

- There are also magazine catch notches (which the mag release on the blaster locks into) on the front and back, and on all four corners of the magazine. There is also a rib on one end of the magazine, so if you want to make the blaster only accept the magazine in one orientation, you can do that. - The front and back wide notches are for paddle style mag releases (like the one on this blaster), and the corner ones are for push button style mag releases (which I'll be using on a bolt action blaster I'm chipping away at designing).

- You could also make a magwell that uses a mag release modeled after the Lynx, where the mag release wraps around the sides of the magazine and locks into the opposing side. Or you could do that all way simpler by just locking into one side, since both sides have the catch notches!

- The mags can be built with either elastic or drum springs as the spring force behind the follower.

- The mags are symmetrical side to side, so they can be used in right handed AND left handed blaster configurations (with the extractor and ejector on the right or left side of the blaster). The same mag works in both blasters.

- There are dedicated holes on the bottom of the magazine to attach a TPU bumper to the bottom, to protect the magazine during drops onto concrete or asphalt. Not required, but I figured it'd be a good feature to have!

After 3 years in development, I hope it's been worth the wait!

PRINT SETTINGS: - 5 walls

- 20% gyroid infill

- IRONING on all top layers is recommended for smoothness!

MAKE SURE that you lubricate the magazines! There are arrows on the mags themselves showing where to put lube. A line along the whole track for each follower arm.

HARDWARE NEEDED: - Four M3x40mm screws

- Four #4 x 3/8" screws (Optional - only used for the optional magazine bumper)

- Four Drum springs (both the Generic and 'FoamBlast' styles of drum mag spring will work!)
