Sobre este modelo

[Edit 15.10.26: I added three more textures, wood_imitation_{4-6}, each with a dense and a sparse version, depending on how much structure you want in the result] Have you ever looked at a flat part of a ColorMix print and think that the lines look a bit like wood? Of course you have! These models are meant to resemble wood grain texture when printed using ColorMix. Whereas in wood the texture results from curved layers and a straight plank surface, here we have straight layers and a curved plank surface. The tops sides of the planks are curved in such a way that the layer lines resemble wood grain lines.

But wait, there's more! You can create your own textures using the freely available tool that I developed to create these models: Wood grain texture to STL You can take a picture of any piece of wood you like and use the tool to create an STL model which when printed with ColorMix should resemble the texture. (It takes a bit of tinkering to get it to look good, but it is reasonably doable)

No supports or brim are needed, but the choice of filaments is a bit tricky (as you can see in the pics) - they need to be different enough to make the lines visible but similar enough to look realistic. In the pictures I used the following combinations: - 75% Prusament Woodfill Pastel Brown, 25% Prusament Woodfill Chocolate Brown

- 70% Prusament Woodfill Chocolate Brown, 30% Prusament rPLA Wine

- 65% Prusament rPLA Wine, 35% Prusament rPLA Corn

- 65% Prusament PLA Sakura Pink, 35% Prusament PLA Vanilla White

- 65% Prusament Woodfill Chocolate Brown, 35% Prusament Woodfill Linden Light
