Sobre este modelo
Warfarin (C19H16O4, CAS 81-81-2) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Instead of colour coding, every sphere carries its engraved element symbol. Start with the ring system: Warfarin has three 6-membered rings, with one pair of rings fused along a shared edge, two of them aromatic; in total the model carries 41 bonds (27 single, 3 double and 11 aromatic, drawn in Kekulé form). Quick starter: ask students to count the engraved symbols (19 C + 16 H + 4 O) and check that they add up to 39 atoms and the formula C19H16O4. Team task: with the model in hand, each group marks the ketone group (C=O) and the phenolic hydroxyl group (Ar-OH), then writes down what they found. Warfarin brings one stereocentre without an assigned R/S label: a good prompt for discussing enantiomers. Worth bringing out when the syllabus reaches aromaticity and delocalised electrons, chirality, enantiomers and CIP (R/S) rules, fused ring systems, the carbonyl group (C=O), as well as phenols and hydrogen bonding. Part of the MolGod.org free library of engraved molecules for chemistry classrooms. Teachers: print one per group and let students check the structure against the formula. STL mesh: 507,486 triangles, closed (watertight) single solid. Coordinates in ångström (STL stores no unit) — scale the model deliberately in your slicer.
