Volcanic Crackle Planter Self-Watering Insert

A small sculptural planter inspired by wabi-sabi clay pottery. It has a cracked, molten-lava crust, deep irregular fissures and a jagged, mountain-like rim. Every plate of the crust has a different size and height, so the surface looks natural from every angle. It looks best printed in matte black PLA. Inside sits a translucent PETG insert. It hangs on an inner ledge above a hidden water reservoir. A recessed funnel on the side lets you refill the reservoir without disturbing the substrate, and the narrowed base sits in the water and wicks moisture up to the roots. Great for semi-hydro. Both parts print without supports.

- Brick-pattern slotted floor (2.5 mm slots): drains well and holds pon or fine substrate

- 2.5 mm ventilation slots in the lower third of the insert for root aeration

- 1 mm clearance on each side, so the insert lifts out easily even with wet soil

- No supports needed: overhangs are limited to 55° and the first layer is flat

The 3MF contains both plates with filaments and per-object settings already set. Select your printer and map the filaments to your AMS slots before slicing.
