Universal Pinlock Mount / Pin (5mm Hole, Optimized Fit & Reinforced Clip) – Remix

This is a remix of Pinlock by user optimized for functional fitment, easy installation, and mechanical reliability. Compatibility: - Universal 5 mm fitment: Designed as a universal replacement pin compatible with most helmet visors featuring standard 5 mm mounting holes (tested and verified on the Roxar RX-One).

What changed? - Clearances & Fitment (0.1 mm offset per side): The original model lacked clearance for FDM expansion, making installation nearly impossible without filing or trimming. With a dialed-in 0.1 mm clearance on mating surfaces, the installation is straightforward and reliable. Snapping the pin into place requires firm, deliberate pressure, but it provides a rock-solid, secure lock without any play.

- Reinforced Retaining Lip: Beefed up the internal retaining tab/flange holding the Pinlock insert flush to prevent delamination and accidental popping out under visor and shell flex.

- Cleaned up file: Removed test artifacts present in the original upload.

Tested Print Settings: - Filament: Transparent / Clear PETG (good UV resistance, toughness, and temperature stability).

- Layer Height: 0.16 mm.

- Walls / Perimeters: 999 (solid perimeters only – avoid standard infill to maximize structural integrity and optical clarity).

- Nozzle Temp: On the higher end of your PETG's recommended range (e.g. 240–250°C) to improve layer fusion and maximize transparency.

- Part Cooling Fan: Low speed (20–40%) to ensure strong layer bonding and reduce internal clouding/haziness.

- Bed Adhesion: Brim is mandatory due to the very small footprint of the pin.

Rider's Tip: Print a small batch (3–4 pairs) at once. Keep a couple of spares in your bike's toolkit, tank bag, or underseat compartment—losing a pinlock pin in the rain or cold weather is an instant ride ruiner, and these weigh nothing.
