UNISMOOTH Filament Hanger

This has been my go-to reel hanger for years when not using dry boxes. It eliminates z-banding caused by filament tension that lifts the extruder/gantry. Filament changes are super quick - whether you're changing the filament on the hanger or the hanger on the machine. ... and it is 100% reliable! - Ball-bearing smoothness coupled with self-centering balance. - Fine anti-unspooling brake. - Suits reels from dia48mm-59mm that are up to 73mm wide. - Plastic and cardboard spools are securely retained but slide on and off easily. - Works with all commercial and Dept_9 reels (below).- Perfect with the CLIP ON SPOOL HOLDER: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7042254

REQUIRED PARTS: - Two 608 skate bearings. - One M8x100 (5/16" x 4") bolt. - Three M3x10 cap-screws. - Nine coil springs - see pictures for details (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005402451548.html).

NOTES - All parts are in the correct print orientation. - The FINGERS are printed like this to align the layers with movement and strength; the supports come off easily and cleanly. - The DRUM does not need supports; the bearing seats have crush-ribs for maximum tolerance. - There are two versions of the unspooling brake:- BRAKE-NUT: needs a push-fit M8 Nyloc nut; loosen it to finger-tightness with a #2 tap. - BRAKE-NUDE: print-and-use as is; has a multi-lobular thread for the right amount of friction, preferably printed from PETG.

- When pushing the fingers into the drum, ensure the ends of the springs are trailing so they don't drag. - Don't over tighten the three small screws that hold the cover on :-]
