Thermoformed Christmas Stocking | Holiday Ornament

The next entry in my Christmas thermoformed series, joining the ornament ball, candy cane, tree, and lights. Hang a tiny stocking on the tree this year 🎄

Two flat mesh sheets print on one plate, then you heat them and press each one into its printed mold with the matching push block to get two puffy stocking halves. The halves join at the sole with a hinge pin, and the same red cap from the rest of the series screws onto the post on the cuff, so it hangs from the loop just like the others.

This Classic version forms up in green mesh with a white cuff, and the heel and toe are raised parts built right into the sheets. The cuff is shaped taller than the leg so it reads like a proper folded-over cuff once it's formed. Because a stocking isn't symmetric front to back, the mold plate includes a mirrored mold and push for the back half — four mold parts total, printed in PETG. A plain all-green version may follow later.

Hollow inside, so there's room to tuck in a piece of candy or a small note before it gets hung up.

🛠️ Printing Notes

- Sheets, cap, and hinge pin print together as a set on the first plate

- Mold and push blocks print in PETG, the rest in PLA

- Three infill-pattern plates included — Gyroid, Honeycomb, and Triangles — pick whichever mesh look you want

- Prints flat, no supports

- Save the mold — future stocking variations may reuse it
