THE Hex Medal Holder – Modular, Secure, No Magnets — modelo 3D

THE Hex Medal Holder – Modular, Secure, No Magnets

por Pappa3D en Thangs

I liked the modular hex medal-holder concept, but the designs I found all had pieces I wanted to change. So I built this one from scratch, combining the ideas I liked with a few improvements of my own.

Sobre este modelo

I liked the modular hex medal-holder concept, but the designs I found all had pieces I wanted to change. So I built this one from scratch, combining the ideas I liked with a few improvements of my own.

Each 150 mm hex can hide the ribbon inside for a clean single-medal display, or multiple hexes can be joined to show off decorative ribbons. Add as many as you need and arrange them however your medals deserve.

Features:

No magnets required. Mechanical catches hold the lid securely, with optional pockets for 6×3 mm magnets if you prefer them. Positive ribbon clamp. The medal isn't relying on a ribbon stuffed through a slot and optimism. Ribbon wrap included. Keeps excess ribbon organized inside the hex while installing the lid. Small alignment keys. Self-center adjoining hexes without bulky connectors or lots of extra filament. Mount it your way. Two reinforced screw locations plus a flat back suitable for adhesive/Command-style strips. Customizable bezel. Plenty of room for race name, year, finish time, distance, or whatever matters to you Designed for clean printing, no supports needed. The base and lid are oriented to put the visible surfaces against the build plate, with the internal geometry designed to print without supports.

Print the Key Fit Test first if you want to verify connector tolerance on your printer. Adjust key scale slightly if needed before printing a full set.

The included project file also contains editable text examples so you can personalize the bezel without modifying the STL.
