Subaru Forester SK Sun Visor Pivot Repair Mount

A serviceable 3D-printable repair architecture for a broken Subaru Forester SK sun-visor pivot/mounting area. V2 is built around a side-entry split housing and replaceable low-friction bearing cartridge instead of rigidly clamping the visor rod. The design is intended to preserve swivel movement while transferring roof-mount loads through a reinforced base.

WHY V2 - Side-entry architecture: installs around an existing pivot shaft without requiring the rod to pass through a closed hole. - Replaceable split bushings: 8.0 to 11.0 mm shaft families in 0.5 mm steps. - Two running-fit classes: STANDARD (+0.30 mm diametral) and FREE (+0.50 mm). - Flanged bushing cartridge controls axial movement and can be replaced without reprinting the structural base. - Reinforced pivot housing with gussets and large fillets. - Mechanical M3 through-bolts and captured hex nuts; no heat-set inserts in the hot-load joint. - Mirrored ENTRY-R and ENTRY-L versions. - 2.2 mm quick fit gauges included so roof screw alignment and trim clearance can be checked before printing ASA/nylon structural parts.

FILES INCLUDED STEP, STL and 3MF for both structural orientations, both fit gauges, and every bushing size/fit class. Editable CadQuery source, parameter JSON, QA logs, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis and engineering dossier are also included.

TARGET APPLICATION Subaru Forester SK-generation sun-visor pivot repair, model years 2019-2024 as the intended fit-development family. Subaru parts catalogs show complete visor assemblies rather than a separately serviced pivot mount for these vehicles, and recent owner reports continue to document visor/pivot failures. Exact mount geometry must still be confirmed on the target vehicle with the included gauge before this file is represented as a tested direct-fit replacement.

PRINT MATERIAL ASA minimum for the structural base/keeper. PC or nylon-class materials are preferred where the printing process is controlled. For the moving bushing, unfilled PA12/PA6 is preferred. PLA is not recommended for permanent automotive-cabin use.
