Spice Rack Re-remix

Pull-out spice drawers for a lower cabinet shelf. Each two-tier bin slides out on a printed slider and swivels 90 degrees to face you, so every jar is easy to reach. Bases come in 3-, 2- and 1-lane widths, so you can size the rack to your cabinet.

What it is This rack turns a cluttered cabinet shelf into neat rows of pull-out spice drawers. Pull a drawer out, swivel the bin toward you and grab the jar you want. Each lane holds 10 square jars (5 per tier), so the full 5-lane build stores 50 jars.

What's new in this remix - No-rub slider (v3): a longer slot and a rounded pocket let the bin swivel clear of the base. The shoulders are smoother and the ends are capped, so the slider can't pull out the front. - One-piece snap pin: replaces the printed nut and bolt, which unscrewed every time the bin swiveled. - Clip-on clear side rails (optional): transparent rails that clip onto a bin's open side and keep jars from tipping out when you swing it. - Floor grates sized to the bins: keep jars upright and add a pop of color. - 2-lane and single-lane bases, so you can mix base widths to fit your cabinet. - Two-tone finish: black bins with red accent stripes, set up as filament-change layers. - Back stops 5 mm shorter so the bases sit behind a cabinet face-frame lip. Full-length back stops are included for deeper cabinets.

Fits these jars Designed around 4 oz square glass spice jars about 1.8" x 1.8" x 4.3" (46 x 46 x 109 mm). Most standard 4 oz square jars fit.

Parts (per lane unless noted) - Base: 3-lane (A), 2-lane (C) or 1-lane (C1), 1 per group of lanes, Black - Back stop to match (B / D / D1), 1 per base, Black - Slider (E), 1, Black - Lower swivel bin (F), 1, Black + red stripes - Upper swivel bin (F2), 1, Black + red stripes - Snap pin (S), 1 (plate prints 5), Red - Top cap ring (J), 1, Red - Floor grate (K), 2, Red or transparent red - Side rail (R), optional, 1 per open side, Transparent red The large double-wide bin (G) and its grate (K2) are also included, for tall bottles. Each G sits on its own single-lane base.

Print settings (tested on a Creality K2, 0.4 mm nozzle, textured PEI) - Material: PETG for everything, so it survives the kitchen and hand-washing. - Layers: 0.20 mm. - Supports: none needed. Print every part in the orientation it loads in. - Brim: none, except on the side rails. - Snap pins: 100% infill. Snap off the small fin after printing. - Side rails: 100% infill, 6 walls and a brim. They print standing upside down. Transparent PETG looks best printed slowly. - Stripes: add filament changes in the slicer's preview. - Lower bin (F): red at 2 mm, back to black at 4 mm; red again at 131.8 mm, black at 133.8 mm. - Upper bin (F2): start in red, black at 2 mm; red at 127.7 mm, black at 129.7 mm. - Turning off the prime tower saves about 13 g per bin. - Filament for all 5 lanes: about 2.25 kg black and 0.5 kg red. A lower bin takes about 5 hours.

Install 1. Set the bases side by side on the shelf, about 1 mm apart. 2. Slide a slider into each lane from the back of the base, textured side up, then fit the back stop. 3. Snap each bin onto its slider with the snap pin. 4. Add the floor grates, cap rings and side rails. 5. Screw the bases to the cabinet floor. The PDF manual has the full steps.

_Warning: single lanes must be screwed down. A single-lane base is only 74 mm wide, so a full drawer pulled out, or a bin swung sideways, can tip it over. Screw it to the cabinet floor before you load it._

Tip: a little paraffin wax or dry PTFE lube on the slider rails makes the drawers glide smoothly. Don't use regular WD-40 on PETG.
