Sink Caddy - Sponge & Brush Holder, Removable Drip Tray, No Supports

por RUDNIK3D en Cults3D

A tidy place for the sponge and the dish brush next to the sink, which lets them dry. The rack has a slotted floor and a drip tray under it, so the sponge does not stand in a puddle. Two parts, no supports, prints in about 150 g of plastic.

Sobre este modelo

A tidy place for the sponge and the dish brush next to the sink, which lets them dry. The rack has a slotted floor and a drip tray under it, so the sponge does not stand in a puddle. Two parts, no supports, prints in about 150 g of plastic.

How it works

- The rack has a slotted floor. Water runs off the sponge through the slots into the drip tray below, so the sponge does not stand in a puddle.

- The rack rests on 4 ribs in the tray, 6 mm above the tray floor, and air gets under the sponge.

- Lift the rack out by the finger notches at both ends and pour out the tray.

Two bays

- Sponge bay 100 × 88 mm: one sponge flat or two on edge (fits 95 × 65 × 30 mm sponges).

- Brush bay 50 × 88 mm: dish brush, bottle brush or scrubber up to Ø 40 mm.

- Low front (30 mm) to grab the sponge, high back (70 mm) against splashes.

Wash and use it safely

- Printed plastic is porous. It can hold moisture and smells. Wash the rack and the tray by hand with warm water and mild soap, and let them dry.

- It is for a sponge and a brush only. It is not certified for food contact, so do not put food in it.

- Do not put it in a dishwasher or pour boiling water into the tray: PLA softens with heat.

SIZE: 161 × 97 × 78 mm assembled. Rack 156 × 92 × 70 mm, tray 161 × 97 × 16 mm.

IN THE FILES

- sink_sponge_caddy-rack.stl: the rack with the slotted floor.

- sink_sponge_caddy-tray.stl: the drip tray.

- sink_sponge_caddy.scad: the source. The sizes are plain variables you can edit in the file; the Customizer panel shows only the part and the clearance.

PRINT SETTINGS: PETG recommended (wet place), PLA also works if you empty the tray. 0.20 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 % infill, no supports, no AMS. Print both files as they lie, floor down; the floor slots are open to the bed. Fits a 170 mm bed. Rack and tray in two colours look good. About 150 g in total (an estimate from the volumes).

Why it prints well

- No supports. Both parts print upright, floor down.

- Fits a 170 mm bed.

Honest notes:

- The images are 3D renders made from the same files you print. This model has not been test-printed yet. The sponge and brush in the images are only for scale.

- Checked numerically on the files: the rack rests on the tray ribs and is guided by the tray walls (0.4 mm clearance per side); a 95 × 65 × 30 mm sponge fits flat and on edge; a Ø 40 × 90 mm brush fits in its bay; no floating islands and no bridges in either part.

- What could fail: the finger notches at both ends of the rack are cut through a sloped wall. At their sides the wall ends in thin sharp points (about 0.6 mm wide). They are fine to print but can feel sharp where you grip the rack. Sand them lightly after printing.

- PLA in a wet place can slowly deform. Use PETG for a caddy that stays wet all the time.

- The rack floor bars span up to about 29 mm between ribs. A very heavy wet load is not what this model is made for.

SLICED (Bambu Lab P2S, 0.20 mm, PLA, 3MF included):

- rack: 86.2 g, about 1 h 36 min
