Sobre este modelo
I designed and printed this savanna lamp for my child's room. The photos show the finished, successfully assembled print. The animal lithophane has its relief on the outside. Size: maximum diameter 160 mm, assembled height 261 mm; base height 68 mm. The three printed parts screw together: a smooth opaque base with a wavy lower edge, the cylindrical lithophane body, and a perforated lid. Files and printing Start with the three 3MF projects to reproduce my print in PrusaSlicer. Matching STL files are included for other slicers and printers. No Python installation is needed to use these print files. The saved profiles are for Original Prusa MK3.5 / MK3.5S, 0.4 mm nozzle, Prusament PLA @MK3.5; my printer is a MK3.5. They were saved with PrusaSlicer 2.9.0. The profile name identifies the saved material preset, not a verified filament brand used in the photos. - All three: 0.20 mm layers and first layer, 2 perimeters, 5 top / 3 bottom solid layers, 5 mm outer brim, supports disabled. Saved nozzle temperatures: 230°C first layer, then 225°C; bed 60°C.
- Base (pied): 5% gyroid infill.
- Body (corps): 100% concentric infill globally, with height-range overrides of 15% adaptive cubic infill at Z 0–20 mm and 176–202 mm in its print orientation.
- Lid (couvercle): 100% rectilinear infill.
These are the settings stored in my projects, not universal recommendations. Keep the saved orientations: base and body upside down; lid flat side on the bed. Review the slice and adapt machine/material settings if your setup differs. The base's socket-support structure includes a small annular bridge. Lighting hardware and assembly You need an E27 LED bulb and a commercial cable/E27 socket assembly with its own retaining ring. The base has a smooth 40 mm socket hole, with no printed socket thread. Check your actual socket, ring, cable and bulb dimensions before assembly. - With the cable unplugged, pass the socket through the base opening and secure it with its retaining ring.
- Route the cable through a lower wave opening without trapping or pinching it.
- Fit the LED bulb, screw the lithophane body into the base, then screw on the perforated lid. Start the printed threads gently and do not force them.
Follow the lighting hardware manufacturer's instructions. No maximum bulb wattage, thermal validation or certification has been established for this printed enclosure. Customise the panorama The generator ZIP includes the Python source, configuration, source PNG, requirements.txt and a step-by-step guide. A separate source-image ZIP contains the same 2172 × 724 panorama. CPython 3.12.2 on macOS was tested; other Python versions/platforms have not been tested for this release. The regenerated STL files were byte-for-byte identical to the shared originals. Start by changing the image, its rotation or gamma. The guide explains grayscale, thin/light versus thick/dark areas, image proportions and the panoramic join. The default configuration retains the shared exterior relief and threads. What to expect This is a decorative lithophane lamp. I initially intended the lid to project a starry sky, but the real result did not meet my expectations. A star projection is not promised. AI assistance was used for the panorama and preparation of this release. The cover animation is a Blender render of the shared STL geometry in a staged bedroom; its lighting is illustrative. The remaining gallery images are unretouched photographs of the actual print.
