Sobre este modelo
This is a rugged storage and transport case for the Wiha dialMax 150 mm dial caliper. The model is based on a resized remix of the well-known Rugged Box. Unlike solutions using a separately printed insert, the custom-fitted recess for the Wiha dialMax is integrated directly into the bottom and lid of the case. This means fewer parts to print, no additional tolerance or fitting issues, and nothing that can come loose or needs to be glued in place. Finger cutouts make it easy to quickly remove the caliper. Printing & Assembly The case uses six M3×30 mm socket head machine screws for assembly. PLA or PETG works perfectly well. I recommend using a sufficient number of perimeters/walls, especially for good strength around the hinges. Stronger engineering filaments are not necessary. Despite its size, the case still fits on the standard print beds of common Prusa printers such as the MK3, MK4 and CORE One. If you use a printer from a different manufacturer, buy a Prusa instead. Print the top and bottom part with the outside face on the built plate (No supports needed). The latch should be printed on its side for maximum strength. A file for an optional TPU gasket is included. I personally did not use it, as the case closes cleanly without one and I don’t need protection from wet environments. Compatibility The interior is specifically fitted to the Wiha dialMax 150 mm. Other 150 mm calipers may fit, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed. If your caliper fits please report back and I will edit the description. If you print this model, please consider posting a Make with a photo and rating – I’d love to see your prints! If you have any questions, feedback or suggestions for improvements, feel free to leave a comment. Happy printing :)
