Sobre este modelo

My friend's Gorilla Glue glue gun broke, so I opened up the housing and found that one of the holes had broken due to being poorly designed. I tried using cyanoacrylate to glue the part back together, but naturally it just broke again once I squeezed the trigger. So I redesigned the part to be more sturdy, and it works great.

Printing For FDM printers, I recommend printing it in two halves, then gluing the halves together with cyanoacrylate. I used 90% infill. After all, we need this part to be stronger than the original injection-molded one! You may need to ream the holes with a drill bit to get them to fit nicely.

Assembly There are a bunch of small phillips screws holding the housing together. Remove these and it should come apart without too much trouble. Be careful as the wiring inside is pretty delicate. The cheapskates used the absolute thinnest possible wires. There is a black sliding part which engages the gluestick, and this has a small linkage connecting to the trigger. This linkage is just as poorly designed as the trigger, so be careful not to break off the pins. They should snap into place into the hole on the new trigger. When re-assembling the glue gun, be sure all the wires are routed correctly and don't get pinched!

Final Note This glue gun is textbook planned obsolescence. Everything about it screams "I'm going to break in 6 months, so you can throw me away and buy a new one!" Obviously, I would not recommend buying it, or anything from this obnoxious company. They've clearly dedicated all of their efforts to marketing, cutting as many corners as humanly possible on the engineering side. Luckily, I was able to squeeze a little extra life out of it (no pun intended).
