Pinecone Cottage Lantern - Hanging or Tabletop

Inspired by the natural shape and layered structure of a pinecone, this little lantern was designed as a decorative piece for the Christmas season. I wanted to capture the look of the overlapping pinecone scales and turn them into a cosy, nature-inspired design.

Standing approximately 10 cm tall, it can be hung on a Christmas tree or displayed on a table, shelf or windowsill. Interestingly, printing the same model with different filament colours and finishes can create three distinct visual effects, giving the lantern a different look depending on your choice of filament.

The model is split into separate parts to make printing easier. All parts are designed to print without supports, making the model straightforward to print.

Note: The hanging loop is the most delicate part of the model. Please remove it carefully from the build plate to avoid breaking it.

The base and upper chimney section feature integrated snap-fit connections, helping the parts fit together securely while keeping assembly simple. Approximate height: 10 cm (3.9 inches).

When assembled, the lantern can be illuminated with an LED tealight, allowing the light to shine through the windows and create a warm, cosy atmosphere.
