Parts for 6 foot Skeleton
por FF King en Thingiverse
Short answer: Make your own 6 foot posable skeleton out of PVC pipe and joints, a few bits of hardware and about a dozen 3D-printable parts Medium answer: A 6 foot skeleton is BIG. Most skeletons are 5 feet tall. Nice, but a 6 foot tall skeleton is about twice the volume. 75% more volume. SIZE...

SIZE MATTERS 😃 For those that want to pause the video: https://youtu.be/mQLhAKqOBvc Download SkullyAssembly.pdf for technical details on assembly. It is basically the assembly animation in PDF format with a few more technical details. Review FullSkeleton.stl to see how most parts fit together. NOTE: not all parts, joints, ... are in FullSkeleton.stl, but most of them are. Most of the assembly is "Press Fit", (Similar to pushing a 1/2" PVC pipe into a 1/2" Elbow) Which means, most of the disassembly is pulling those parts apart. Bigger skeleton using smaller storage. These 3D Printed parts are designed for 1/2 inch PVC SDR 13.5. (Inner Diameter=18 mm) Thinner, cheaper, and lighter than Sch 40 PVC. To use SCH 40, reduce 1/2 inch parts by 87% Long answer: The 3D Printed parts are PLA, with 5% infill. The hands, feet and skull have a bottom thickness of ZERO. The skull has no infill. No supports are needed for any part. All parts were printed with 0.3 layers for faster/stronger parts A 5 foot skeleton has more detail... detail that is usually covered up by clothes, corpsifying, burying, painting, or concealing detail in some other fashion. A LOT of money for unseen parts. A 6 foot skeleton that you can modify and mangle as you please, knowing you can repair any changes made, gives you great freedom. Parts and pieces are close to anatomically correct scale, but adjusted to keep the measurements simple whole inches, and flattened to speed up print time. A little tricky with such close relationships between parts. It helps the parts have some flexibility. Using other size pipe means scaling 1/2 inch parts (using 18 mm diameter) by a factor that fits inside your pipes. In my case, I scaled up from 18 to 23 mm (1/3 bigger) to make an 8 foot skeleton using 3/4" and 1" PVC pipe. Extra parts: - FullSkeleton.stl is to see how parts come together, it is not meant to be printed. - Sternum2A.stl and Sternum2B.stl were created so i could scale up by 33% and still fit on my print bed. - Scapula.stl are optional parts for the shoulder blades. - gear_lock.stl can be glued to joint.stl to create locking joints. BUT then you have to loosen the bolt to move the joint.
EXTRA TIPS: This design became a featured item. so hear are a few tips: - Cleaning PVC pipe print: Carb Cleaner will remove most of the print from PVC pipe. . - Using part of a can of spray foam: Break Cleaner will dissolve/wash uncured spray foam. SO, you can clean the straw and nozzle of spray foam cans to save the unused portion. After cleaning, Tip the can upside down for a day so the air doesn't leak out.
Safety Note: These are toxic chemicals, so use with caution. Point the can a bit sideways as you spray to avoid splash back. Revision History: 2026-10-16: Skully had a shrunken head: scaled up "SkullyHead.stl" by 300% 2026-10-21: The mounting holes in Skully's right hand/foot fell off in shipping... added them back in. 2026-10-21: Added JoinHead.stl, so Skully can get their head on straight. ... NOTE: it is 3/4" PVC Outer Diameter, so you can slide it up/down the neck ... NOTE: Bolt Head goes on the inside. Nut goes on the outside.
