Pag Lace Lantern - Lithophane LED Lamp with Croatian Needle-Lace Rosettes, Filigree Buttons and Silver Onion Dome

A lantern that celebrates two treasures of Croatian handcraft: Pag lace - the fine needle-lace rosettes made by the women of the island of Pag and listed by UNESCO as intangible heritage - and the silver filigree Šibenik button, the round ornament worn on traditional Dalmatian costumes. Two bands of large lace rosettes alternate with two rows of filigree buttons, divided by half-round beads.

By day the shade looks like carved porcelain. When the LED is on, every thread of the lace is cut thinner into the wall and glows, so the rosettes light up like real lace held against a window.

Three parts, no glue:

- Shade (119 x 198 mm): gently bellied body, 0.8 mm wall at the lace and up to 2.8 mm at the frame

- Base (132 x 48 mm): moulded foot with 8 lancet windows, a ring for an LED tea light or LED puck and a cable channel

- Onion dome (112 x 84 mm): ribbed onion dome, a beaded skirt and a turned finial blended into the dome in one smooth piece - no visible joint

Twist-lock bayonet: 3 lugs on the shade drop into the base and lock with a 22 degree twist. The dome sits in a V-groove on the shade rim.

Print the shade in white and the base and dome in silver for the filigree look. Everything prints without supports and the relief edges are smoothed, so there is no stair-stepping. A beautiful gift for a wedding, a new home or anyone with Croatian roots.
