Sobre este modelo
N-isopropyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (C15H18N2, CAS 101-72-4) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Symbols are engraved into every atom, so students read atoms by symbol, not by colour. Teachers who print molecules quickly meet the same gap: the file defines spheres and sticks, but not which element each sphere stands for. Each atom of a MolGod model is engraved with its element symbol, turning a plain print into a self-explaining teaching object. The aim of this scientific education project is to help students identify the atoms of a molecule faster and so grasp its chemistry and 3D geometry sooner. Teachers get the structure and its atom labels in a single download, which removes the slowest steps before a classroom print. Background, references and the planned classroom study: https://molgod.org/engraved-molecular-models/. Which rings can the class see in N-isopropyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine? The answer is two 6-membered rings, both aromatic, joined up by 36 bonds altogether (24 single and 12 aromatic, drawn in Kekulé form). Use the engraved letters like a register: call out each element and tick it off until the class reaches 15 C + 18 H + 2 N (35 atoms altogether). Name-and-locate exercise: students find the two secondary amino groups (-NH-) on the model and afterwards write the name of every group they found. Lesson link: aromaticity and delocalised electrons, as well as amines and basicity. Its closest structural relatives in the MolGod.org collection are N,N'-Diphenylbenzidine (CAS 531-91-9) and N-phenyl-2-naphthylamine (CAS 135-88-6); printing them side by side makes a quick compare-and-contrast exercise. MolGod.org shares these models for free to make chemistry tangible in the classroom. Teachers: pair it with the MolGod.org record to connect the 3D shape with identifiers and data. Free to print and free to bring into any classroom. CC BY-SA 4.0 sets four simple conditions for anything you publish with it: credit "MolGod.org" as the model's author, link the original and the licence, say what you changed, and share derivatives alike. Copy the attribution line below to get it right. There is no registration, no payment and no obligation to rate it. Every review helps us refine the models for students.
