The original tank has severe design flaws. a 20L tank only suitable for tiny shrimp with a 2mm gap between the filter holder and the filter case means that water bypasses the pre-filter entirely. these shims close that.

The original tank has severe design flaws. a 20L tank only suitable for tiny shrimp with a 2mm gap between the filter holder and the filter case means that water bypasses the pre-filter entirely. these shims close that gap and add a 0.7mm grill to the filter to protect baby shrimp from the pump. The lower grill is mostly fill to allow for substrate suitable for a planted tank. you really dont need to worry about flow restriction. I run a 2000L/hr pump on a 8mm ID hose in my main tank.
