Sobre este modelo
#CULTSOWEEN
I wanted to design a Halloween candy bowl that actually reacts when people reach inside, without needing any metal springs, rubber bands, or electronics.
This biting pumpkin works with a simple mechanical lever and gravity. There is a false bottom (trigger plate) sitting inside the bowl. When someone reaches in to grab candy and presses down slightly on the plate, the rear L-arm pushes the upper jaw and makes the lid snap down over their hand. Once they pull their hand back, the weight at the back of the hinge opens the mouth back up automatically.
The teeth have rounded tips so they won't pinch or hurt fingers—it's just a fun mechanical jump-scare for trick-or-treaters or for keeping on your desk. There's also enough room inside to drop a small LED tealight if you want the eyes and mouth to glow in the dark.
Files included (3 separate parts):
- 1_Lower_Bowl_Body.stl (Main pumpkin bowl with lower teeth and rear hinge sockets)
- 2_Trigger_Plate.stl (Inner pressure plate with the L-shaped lever arm)
- 3_Upper_Jaw_Lid.stl (Top pumpkin head with upper teeth, stem, and hinge pins)
