Sobre este modelo
The Lion Crest Barrel is an STL model of an upright wooden cask decorated with a carved lion head inside an ornate scrolled cartouche, held together by riveted iron hoops and standing on a rough stone base. Designed for resin and FDM 3D printing and mold casting, this heraldic barrel is a showpiece for a royal cellar, a castle tavern or a tabletop RPG storeroom, and printed larger it becomes a striking dice cup, pen holder or desk ornament.

THE KING'S RESERVE
In a Castilian royal cellar, one barrel was carved with the lion of the kingdom and filled only once, on the day a prince was born. It was to be opened at his coronation. Wars, plagues and two regencies came and went, and the barrel waited in the dark under the castle. When the prince was finally crowned at forty, the cellar master tapped it with shaking hands. It was said to be the finest wine anyone had ever tasted, and the empty barrel was kept as a relic of patience.
THE SCULPT IN DETAIL
- Upright barrel with vertical carved staves and wood grain
- Three iron hoops studded with rows of round rivets
- Front cartouche with scrollwork frame and a detailed lion head with flowing mane
- Rough stone slab base around the bottom
- Solid model (if you want a hollow cup, see the tip below)
STEP BY STEP
1. Download the STL from your Cults3D library.
2. Open it in your slicer and set a height, for example 30 mm for 1:12 or 100 mm for desk decor.
3. Stand it upright on the stone base.
4. Usually no supports are needed; add Tree (Auto) supports only if your slicer shows overhangs on the cartouche.
5. Print and sand the base.
6. Prime and paint wood, iron and the lion.
7. Seal with matte or satin varnish.
APPLICATION TIPS
- Oak brown barrel, dark iron hoops and a gold lion for a royal look.
- Weathered grey stone base with moss green in the cracks.
- For a dice cup or pen holder, print it large and use a slicer modifier or editing software to hollow the top.
- Place in a castle cellar, tavern or treasury diorama.
- Combine with stacked barrels and treasure chests for a storeroom scene.
