Sobre este modelo
A Christmas tree made of light: three tiers of LED tea lights stacked around a central post, with one more light on top. That is 14 little flames in a tree shape, a cosy centrepiece for the holiday table or the windowsill. Green tiers with gold spacers and a gold cap look festive even before the lights go on.
What you get. Three tiers (162, 138 and 118 mm across) with 6, 4 and 3 pockets for 38 mm LED tea lights, and a top cap with the 14th light. The bottom tier has the central post built in (151 mm tall, one piece). Three spacers keep the tiers apart: two tall ones (42 mm) and one short one (31 mm) under the cap. Built, the tree is 161 mm tall. Each tier has star cut-outs between the pockets, so the light shows through them.
Why it prints well. There are no supports. The tiers print flat with 45° chamfered edges, the post tier and the spacers print upright, and every part fits a 180 mm bed (the largest is 162 mm). The tiers slide down the post with 0.4 mm clearance per side. The 42 mm between tiers leaves room above each LED tea light (38 mm across, 35 mm tall, 7 mm of it in the pocket) and the lights of the top tier clear the cap by 3 mm.
Colours. Separate parts, so you choose: green tiers with gold spacers as in the pictures, red tiers with silver spacers, or all white. One colour works too.
IN THE FILES
- tier1_with_tube-green: bottom tier (162 mm across, 6 pockets) with the post, standing upright, 162 × 162 × 151 mm
- tier2-green: middle tier, 138 mm across, 4 pockets, 10 mm thick
- tier3-green: top tier, 118 mm across, 3 pockets, 10 mm thick
- spacer-gold: tall spacer 26 × 26 × 42 mm, print 2
- spacer_top-gold: short spacer 26 × 26 × 31 mm, print 1
- top-gold: cap with the last pocket, 54 × 54 × 16 mm
- tealight_tree_stack.scad: the parametric source (clearance, pocket size, spacing)
SIZE: 161 mm tall when built, 162 mm across at the bottom. With lights in place the highest point is about 189 mm.
PRINT SETTINGS: PLA, 0.20 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 % infill, no supports. Bottom tier standing upright on its disc (the post is 151 mm tall, so use a brim and a slow first layer); the other tiers flat; spacers and cap in one plate. The middle and top tiers (138 and 118 mm) do not fit one 250 mm plate together, so print them separately.
ASSEMBLY: Slide a tall spacer onto the post, then tier 2, the second tall spacer, tier 3, the short spacer and the cap on top. Put an LED tea light in each of the 14 pockets. Nothing needs glue.
SAFETY: LED tea lights only. Never use real candles or any light that gets hot.
Honest notes:
- The images are 3D renders made from the same files you print. The LED tea lights and their flames in the pictures are only for illustration and are not in the files. This stand has not been test-printed yet.
- What we checked numerically on the exported STL files: every file is a closed single solid; the whole stack goes together with no overlap; all 14 tea lights (38 × 35 mm) sit in their pockets with no collision with the tier above or with the cap; no overhang that needs support.
- A tall stack on a 162 mm base is stable on a flat table but it is not a toy: keep it away from children and pets.
- The hole at the bottom of the cap socket is not completely closed (about 9 mm across): it does not matter for the fit.
- The design is original: no licensed characters, no brands.
