The Kraken sits directly over the light orb with its tentacles flowing down around the sphere and extending all the way to the base, creating a strong sculptural silhouette from every angle. When illuminated, the warm light shines between the tentacles and highlights the creature’s details, giving the lamp an atmospheric deep-sea look.

The lamp looks especially effective with an **antique bronze, aged gold or dark metallic hand-painted finish.

Lighting: Use a low-heat LED light source only. The example shown uses a warm white light to create the golden glow through the orb.

Painting Tip: Start with a black or very dark brown undercoat, then lightly dry-brush the raised Kraken details with antique gold, bronze or pale gold to bring out the texture. For the orb, apply a thin black water wash first so the colour settles into the printed layer lines and recesses, then lightly dry-brush pale gold over the surface. The dark lines on the orb are intentional and help create the aged, weathered finish shown in the photos.

Note: If you prefer to print the model as separate parts, you can split the file into its two individual objects. This option has not been test printed, so use it at your own discretion.
