JBL Flip 3 USB-Micro to USB-C Conversion, sacrificing Aux port
por jorritlinnert en Thingiverse
This model is used as housing for a USB-C port that takes the place of both the Auxiliary Port and the original USB-Micro Port. The shape is an approximation of the original housing for both ports, but it has to sacrifice the Auxiliary Port, because the USB-C port ( That I chose ) is simply too big.

Sobre este modelo
This model is used as housing for a USB-C port that takes the place of both the Auxiliary Port and the original USB-Micro Port. The shape is an approximation of the original housing for both ports, but it has to sacrifice the Auxiliary Port, because the USB-C port ( That I chose ) is simply too big to leave room for the 3.5mm TRRS port. As it it's an approximation of the original, this lowers the IP-rating for water ingress. The FreeCAD model has been made using FreeCAD version 1.13. The step exports are divided in the - Base ( contains the base shape of the housing, without the central insert), - Central Insert ( This version uses a right angled female USB-C port set in a 1.6 mm rectangular PCB) and finally the - Cap ( This is a loosely fitting cap to keep the USB-C port free from lint and small debris, but it does not offer significant water protection )
The circular holes next to the central cut-out for the USB-C port are dimensioned for M2x5mm brass screw inserts. The central walls next to the USB-C cut-out are so thin that they will bulge out towards the cut-out centre .This is normal while using this model and did not interfere with the insertion of the USB-C port that I chose in this instance. M2x5.5mm screws with a tapered head can be used to fix the port to the model. Note !: It is recommended for USB-C standard compliance to choose USB-C-ports with pull-down 5.1k Ohm resistors between CC1 and Ground, CC2 and Ground or modern USB-C to USB-C power adapters won't charge the batteries of your Flip 3 Bluetooth Speaker.
