HexaGrow – Modular Honeycomb Self-Watering Hydroponic Planter (Green&Hydro)
por Bilal Eymen en Thingiverse
HexaGrow – Grow Something Together 🌿 HexaGrow is a modular, honeycomb-shaped hydroponic planter. Each hexagonal module has its own water reservoir, a slotted net cup for the plant, and a little float that tells you when it's time to top up. Because the modules tile edge to edge, you can start with.

HexaGrow – Grow Something Together 🌿 HexaGrow is a modular, honeycomb-shaped hydroponic planter. Each hexagonal module has its own water reservoir, a slotted net cup for the plant, and a little float that tells you when it's time to top up. Because the modules tile edge to edge, you can start with one herb pot and grow it into a whole honeycomb garden on your windowsill, desk or balcony. Made for the Green&Hydro Challenge. #GreenChallenge Features - Modular honeycomb layout: modules sit flat-to-flat, centre spacing 85.5 mm - Self-watering reservoir (about 0.4 L per module) - Slotted net cup: roots reach the water directly. Use clay pebbles (LECA), rockwool or coco coir, or fill it with soil - Pop-up level indicator: a red knob rises through the lid when the tank is more than about half full. When it sinks flush with the lid, refill - Six vent / refill slots in the lid, so you can top up without removing the plant - No supports needed on any part - Four parts per module, easy to print and easy to clean
Parts (per module) - Tank: 84 mm across flats, 80 mm tall - Lid: with six vent/refill slots and a lip that locates inside the tank - Net cup: 57 mm flange, 60 mm deep, tapered with vertical slots - Level float: hollow, 18 mm wide, about 53 mm tall
"00_HexaGrow_Assembled_Preview.stl" is only a preview of the assembled module. Do not print it. Print settings Material: PLA or PETG (PETG recommended for the tank; use food-safe filament for edible plants) Supports: none - Tank: upright, 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 10% gyroid infill - Lid: print flat side down (STL is already oriented), 0.2 mm layers - Net cup: flange on the bed (STL is already oriented), 0.16–0.2 mm layers, 2 walls - Float: upright, 0.12–0.16 mm layers, 3 walls, 0% infill (it must stay hollow to float), print slowly. Optional: filament change for the red knob
Assembly - Place the lid on the tank (the lip fits inside the rim). - Drop the net cup into the central hole. - Slide the float stem up through any vent slot in the lid. - Fill the tank through a vent slot with water or nutrient solution, up to about 74 mm. Do not overfill. - Fill the cup with clay pebbles and add your seedling or cutting.
Tips - Keep the reservoir covered from light to avoid algae - Use a diluted hydroponic nutrient solution and change it every 2 weeks - Basil, mint, lettuce and chives work great - Tolerances: the lid has about 0.3 mm clearance and the cup about 0.6 mm. Adjust your printer's horizontal expansion if the fit is too tight or loose
Notes The renders were generated from the STL geometry, and plants are illustrative. [Add here: "Printed and tested ✔" with your photos once you have printed it.] Remix, share your makes, and happy growing!
