HamsterStar – Silent 140 mm Hamster Wheel

HamsterStar is a compact, sturdy and extremely quiet hamster wheel designed with smooth running and durability in mind. The wheel has an outer diameter of 140 mm and rotates on a 608 ABEC-7 bearing, resulting in very smooth and nearly silent operation. The bearing should be secured in place with a small amount of cyanoacrylate / super glue. The included print profile prints the model almost completely solid. This increases material usage, but makes the wheel much more rigid, durable and helps keep vibrations and noise to a minimum. Specifications:

Assembly: Print the parts, press the bearing into the center of the wheel and secure it with a small drop of super glue. Allow the glue to fully cure before installing the wheel onto the stand. Why print it solid? HamsterStar is intentionally designed with a heavy and rigid wheel. The added mass and stiffness help reduce resonance and vibration while the ball bearing provides smooth rotation. The result is a wheel that is extremely quiet in use.
