Sobre este modelo

This Green Lantern ring design is inspired by the upcoming Lanterns television series starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. The model was designed to closely resemble the modern live-action interpretation of the Green Lantern Corps while also allowing for practical electronics integration. The ring features an internal compartment specifically designed to hold a 0.96-inch OLED display module, making it ideal for custom lighting effects, Green Lantern logos, power battery indicators, animations, or other creative display functions. To properly fit the OLED module, the 3D model must be scaled down by 10% before printing. For the best visual effect, I recommend printing the ring using transparent PLA filament. The transparent material helps diffuse light from the OLED display and creates a glowing effect similar to the energy constructs seen in the Green Lantern mythology. For the display window, I cut a small square of clear plastic and mounted it beneath the top section of the ring to provide a clean, flush display surface while protecting the OLED module from damage. To finish the ring, I used a simple paint process: - Spray the lantern emblem and upper faceplate with a light metallic green paint.

- Spray the lower ring band and base components with a medium grey or gunmetal paint.

- Allow all painted parts to fully cure before assembly.

- Use a gold paint marker to highlight the edges of the lantern symbol, panel lines, and raised details around the ring.

- Lightly weather the metallic areas if desired to give the ring a more realistic, screen-used appearance.

Because the OLED display is hidden beneath the translucent display window, the electronics remain mostly invisible when the display is powered off. Once powered on, the display shines through the front of the ring, creating an illuminated effect that resembles a genuine Green Lantern power ring. This model is suitable for cosplay, display pieces, prop replicas, electronics projects, or anyone looking to build a functional Green Lantern ring inspired by the Lanterns series. Depending on the electronics used, the ring can be upgraded with animated graphics, charging indicators, Green Lantern logos, power level meters, voice effects, Bluetooth connectivity, or interactive features connected to external hardware worn in a glove or wrist-mounted module. The design balances screen accuracy with practical functionality, allowing makers to create a wearable Green Lantern ring that not only looks the part but can also incorporate modern electronics to bring the prop to life. This project is aimed at creating a semi-realistic Green Lantern power ring capable of displaying images, symbols, animations, and Green Lantern-themed graphics on a miniature screen embedded directly into the ring. Unlike many electronic prop replicas that rely on custom PCBs or highly specialized hardware, this prototype focuses on achieving the effect using readily available components and simple construction methods wherever possible. The ultimate vision for the project extends beyond simply displaying static images. Future versions are intended to explore features that simulate the abilities of a Green Lantern power ring, including animated power-up sequences, interactive menus, battery status systems, voice feedback, wireless connectivity, and the ability to switch between different Lantern Corps symbols and display modes. The OLED display serves as the first step toward creating a wearable prop that feels both functional and believable while remaining achievable for hobbyists and makers. At its current stage, this model should be considered a proof-of-concept prototype. The design is still undergoing testing, refinement, and experimentation to determine the most effective way to combine electronics, lighting, portability, and comfort into a ring-sized form factor. Dimensions, internal mounting solutions, display positioning, and electronic layouts may change as development progresses. One of the primary goals of the project is to demonstrate how modern miniature electronics can be integrated into wearable props without significantly compromising appearance or comfort. By housing most of the technology within the ring itself or in optional companion hardware such as a glove or wrist-mounted module, the project aims to maintain the iconic look of a Green Lantern power ring while expanding its capabilities. Future development may include wireless communication between the ring and external devices, custom animations triggered by gestures or button presses, audio feedback systems, rechargeable battery solutions, and advanced display effects designed to mimic the energy-based technology seen throughout Green Lantern media. Long-term goals also include investigating miniature projection systems and other experimental technologies that could create the illusion of constructs or holographic effects, although these concepts remain strictly experimental and are not part of the current prototype. As this project remains in its early stages, feedback, modifications, and community improvements are encouraged. The design is intended to be a foundation upon which other makers, cosplayers, prop builders, and electronics enthusiasts can experiment, improve, and develop new features. Each prototype brings the project one step closer to creating a practical, wearable interpretation of the iconic Green Lantern power ring while remaining accessible to hobbyists with consumer-grade 3D printers and commonly available electronic components. Whether used as a display piece, convention prop, cosplay accessory, or electronics platform, this ring represents an ongoing effort to bridge the gap between science fiction and real-world maker technology, transforming one of the most recognizable items in comic book history into a functional prototype that can continue to evolve with future advances in miniature electronics and wearable technology.
