Filament Sample Holder – Swatch Plate Grid

This grid plate lets you quickly compare filament swatches by color and material.

It is designed to fit the Filament Swatches available from Bambu Lab. The download also includes printable tiles for creating your own swatches, as well as label tiles for identifying different filament material groups.

Unlike similar grid designs, this one doesn't use the holes in the swatches. Instead, the swatches simply snap into the grid, which makes it convenient to use. But constructing the fit just right was quite challenging, as the swatches sometimes vary slightly in size. With my Bambu Lab P1S and matte PLA, all swatches stay securely in place while remaining easy to remove. However depending on your printing setup, you might need to adjust the scale of the grid in your slicer very slightly. To help you check the fit before printing the entire grid, I've also included a small test grid with just two slots.

SLICER / FILES

The download includes different 3MF and STL file versions to increase compatibility. Make sure to open the version optimized for your slicer, as indicated by the file names.

- Editable text labels: The 3MF files for OrcaSlicer and Bambu Studio offer the flexibility to edit all text labels directly in the slicer to create custom labels for your own filament swatches. The labels use the free font "Montserrat Alternates":

- Two-color labels: Each filament group label includes a modifier block that allows you to print the text in a second color. For single-color printing, simply delete the modifier.

- Other slicers: If your slicer isn't compatible with the provided 3MF files, you can use the STL files instead.
