Filament Quick Clamp V2

This is new version of my previous Filament Quick Clamp models. Features: - Prevents filament spool from unraveling. - Filament is easy to snap in place by a clever gripper mechanism. - Clamp and gripper is spring loaded by a single internal rubber band.

Printing Tips Should be an easy print of 4 separate parts. Use 3 perimeters for strength. Loop the rubber band around the part called 'spring', then insert everything into the outer case and secure with the printed screw. The screw holds the parts together, it's not a lock. Use a screwdriver if needed. The clamp-ends usually need a bit more friction, just apply some tape or hot melt glue. The rubber band should be about 5-6 cm and not too thick.

Update, June 10, 2025: The screw and shaft model files are updated with improved clearance for the screw threads. The shaft can also no longer be installed upside down by mistake. Extended Sizes folder added if longer clamp is needed, shafts of different head length. The full clamp range is indicated in the file names. I only have standard 1kg spools so have not been able to test these for real. Let me know in the comments if you encounter any issues. The original files remain available as a zip, should you need them.
