Sobre este modelo
Fenadiazole (C8H6N2O2, CAS 1008-65-7) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Whatever the filament colour, each atom reads clearly thanks to its engraved symbol. At its heart, Fenadiazole is built around two rings (one 5-membered and one 6-membered), both aromatic. The model shows 19 bonds: 8 single and 11 aromatic, drawn in Kekulé form. Quick starter: ask students to count the engraved symbols (8 C + 6 H + 2 N + 2 O) and check that they add up to 18 atoms and the formula C8H6N2O2. Lesson link: aromaticity and delocalised electrons, heteroaromatic rings (nitrogen inside an aromatic ring), as well as phenols and hydrogen bonding. Isomerism made physical: line it up with 2,3-Dihydro-1,4-phthalazinedione (CAS 1445-69-8) and let the class describe how the same atoms are put together differently. This molecule gives students these functional groups to identify: phenolic hydroxyl group (Ar-OH) and two pyridine-type ring nitrogens. MolGod.org offers this engraved model free to anyone teaching or learning chemistry. Teachers: use it as a hands-on starter before drawing the structural formula on the board.
