The "Cords Stay Where I Put Them" Extension Cord Clip 🔌

Extension cords never stay routed. They sag off the joist, droop across the garage wall, and end up in a loop you catch with your shoulder. The nail-in clips from the hardware store split the moment you drive them. So I designed one that does not.

🟩 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞

▸ 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘄, 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗵 — A single countersunk hole sized for a #7 Phillips flat head wood screw: 4.4 mm through for the shank, opening out to 7.6 mm so the head pulls below the surface. Pick the length to suit whatever you are screwing into. No nails to bend over, no adhesive to let go in a cold garage.

▸ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗜𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄 — The channel is open, not a tunnel, so you can clip a cord that is already run and already plugged in. No unplugging, no threading, no starting over.

▸ 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗹𝘆 — Space them along a run and the cord tracks straight. Put one on each side of an inside corner and the cord follows the wall instead of bowing away from it.

▸ 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿 — 22 × 14 × 8 mm. In white on a white wall it reads as trim hardware rather than as a printed part.

▸ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘆 𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹 — Not a remix. Modeled from scratch, printed, and holding both a black outdoor extension cord and a white indoor cord along my garage soffit.

🟩 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦

Tree supports required · 0.12mm layer height · PLA

Print it flat on the plate. The cord channel is open from below and its mouth overhangs, so tree supports on auto at 30° are part of the shipped profile — they twist out of the channel in one piece.

The 3MF carries four ready-made plates — 1, 6, 12 and 24 clips — so you can print one to try or a full batch without arraying anything yourself. Print more than you think you need.
