Sobre este modelo

Epichlorohydrin (C3H5ClO, CAS 106-89-8) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Each atom is labelled with its own engraved element symbol: no colour chart needed. Look at the skeleton first: Epichlorohydrin contains one 3-membered ring, and students can trace 10 bonds (all of them single). Hand the model round and let students tally the engraved atoms: 3 C + 5 H + 1 Cl + 1 O, 10 in total. A good fit for lessons on chirality, enantiomers and CIP (R/S) rules, on ring strain in three-membered rings, as well as on organohalogen compounds and carbon-halogen bonds. Functional groups to find on the model: epoxide ring (three-membered C-O-C ring) and C-Cl bond. There is one stereocentre in Epichlorohydrin; the configuration is not specified in this record, so students can work out what the R and S forms would look like. MolGod.org builds and releases these models at no cost for chemistry teaching. Teachers: hand out printed copies and ask students to rebuild the structural formula from the model. STL mesh: 121,712 triangles, closed (watertight) single solid. Coordinates in ångström (STL stores no unit) — scale the model deliberately in your slicer. Names in other languages: Epichlorhydrin (de); épichlorohydrine (fr); epicloridrina (it); epichloorhydrine (nl); epichlorohydryna (pl); 环氧氯丙烷 (zh).
