This is a cap that covers the top of the z-axis threaded rods to prevent dust and filament bits from getting in there. 2 covers print in roughly 9.5 minutes and uses 1 gram of filament.
There is a round cutout so the top of the rod/rubber plug does not rub against the printed cover! Optimized for 0.16mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle. If printing ASA or ABS, increase the “Max fan speed threshold → Layer time” in Filament Cooling settings to at least 6 seconds.
To install, simply snap into place with 2 fingers using a very small amount of force. Easily removable with your fingernail.
Due to variances in printing, if you want an absolutely perfect fit - please try printing 4 and choose the best 2. You can also try scaling X/Y/Z by 0.3% - 0.5% in the slicer.
