Ducati Monster M900 (1994) – Lithium Battery Box Adapter

I designed this adapter to fit a smaller Shorai lithium battery into the stock battery box on my 1994 Ducati Monster M900, rather than use the foam pads that come with the battery. This gives it a much cleaner look. The adapter sits inside the original battery box and uses the stock bolt locations. The battery is a snug friction fit inside the adapter. Openings in the sides and ends reduce material and provide access to the mounting points. I also removed the original rubber hold down straps and bumpers, and since I didn't need them anymore, trimmed off the hold-down strap hooks. Fitment - Fit-tested on my 1994 Ducati Monster M900.

- Designed around a Shorai lithium battery (model LFX18L1-BS12). Check your battery’s dimensions against the adapter before printing; not all lithium batteries use the same case size.

- Compatibility with other Monster years and models has not been verified.

Installation Place the adapter in the original battery box and secure it using the stock mounting locations. I added some washers and bolts that were about 5mm longer than stock. Insert the battery and check that it sits fully in the adapter without excessive force. Use a suitable nonconductive hold-down to retain the battery. Check that the battery, terminals, cables, and hold-down have adequate clearance and that the positive terminal is protected against contact with metal. Testing and materials The adapter has been printed and fit-tested in the stock battery box. Long-term road durability has not yet been verified.
