Problem - I don't have a pillar drill at home :o) yet wanted to improve the drilling of small holes to ensure they remained perpendicular to the surface using a standard DIY drill. Solution - This simple Drill Guide uses replaceable sacrificial sleeves that can be modified to support different diameters of drill to ensure they remain perpendicular to the surface. I found putting the piece to be drilled on the floor with wood beneath it and placing my feet on with side of the guide allowed a reasonably accurate hole with DIY equipment. However, I would strongly advice anyone else NOT to use your feet, instead using clamps or stops on a bench to hold the item in position as the preferred, safe and appropriate method of using this guide.. obviously!! The item is printed with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.28mm layer height with 20% cubic infill, 6 layer walls, top and bottom. The material was Eryone PETG, but for greater toughness ASA-GF would be a nice alternative to prolong the life of the sacrificial sleeves.
