Curtis CCA-1550 Custom Socket Jig – 7/16" Valve Tool A simple 3D-printed jig for modifying a standard 7/16" 6-point socket into a dedicated tool for installing and removing the Curtis CCA-1550 fuel drain valve. The CCA-1550 has two opposing lugs that require longitudinal slots in the socket. Curtis offers a dedicated CST-716 tool, but this jig allows a standard 7/16" socket to be modified using a Dremel and a 3 mm cylindrical milling bit. Jig dimensions - Outer body: 24 × 24 mm square - Socket guide hole: Ø16 mm - Anti-rotation drive: 6.45 × 6.45 mm square - Jig height: approximately 50 mm - Designed for a standard 7/16" 6-point socket with 1/4" drive

The 6.45 mm square peg engages the socket's 1/4" drive opening and fixes its angular position. The outer square body provides a convenient reference for positioning the two opposing longitudinal slots. How to use - Insert the 7/16" socket into the jig. - The 6.45 mm square peg engages the socket's 1/4" drive and prevents rotation. - Secure the jig in a vise. - Use a Dremel with a 3 mm cylindrical milling bit to cut the two opposing longitudinal slots. - Remove material progressively, using the openings in the jig as a positioning reference. - Leave a small amount of material for final adjustment. - Finish the slots with a file if necessary. - Use the actual CCA-1550 valve as the final fit gauge.

The jig was successfully tested with a KS Tools 922.1530 7/16" 6-point socket and a CCA-1550 valve. The finished socket fits the valve correctly and works as a dedicated installation/removal tool. Why this jig? The original Curtis CST-716 is a dedicated tool for the CCA-1550, but it can be difficult to find. This jig makes it possible to convert an ordinary 7/16" socket into a similar dedicated tool using commonly available workshop tools. The jig fixes both the position and angular orientation of the socket, making it much easier to machine the two opposing slots accurately. Notes This is a custom DIY machining jig, not an official Curtis tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Curtis. The final slot dimensions are intentionally not fixed by the jig. They should be finished to match the actual CCA-1550 valve lugs, allowing the user to adjust the fit precisely. Use appropriate eye protection and securely clamp the jig and workpiece when machining the socket. Tested with - Curtis CCA-1550 fuel drain valve - KS Tools 922.1530 7/16" 6-point socket - Dremel - 3 mm cylindrical milling bit - Hand file
