🎬 How many times has this happened to you? You're at a restaurant, the game starts and you have to improvise everything to hold up your phone... the water bottle, the glass, the napkin holder. The phone slips, falls, you can't see anything.

Sobre este modelo
🎬 How many times has this happened to you? You're at a restaurant, the game starts and you have to improvise everything to hold up your phone... the water bottle, the glass, the napkin holder. The phone slips, falls, you can't see anything. That's why I created CARDKICK.
A smartphone stand the size of a credit card, only 3mm thick, that really fits in your wallet and when you need it, in one second, becomes a solid stand for any smartphone. No supports, no screws, no assembly. You take it out, open the two wings and the phone stays up, stable, both vertically and horizontally.
📱 I tested it with 3 different smartphone variants up to 6.7 inches with case. The space between the wings that hold the smartphone and the back is 11mm, so even the thickest cases fit. 🔧 Project evolution - 4 versions to the final model
V1 - First prototype: Hinges too thin, they broke on first movement. I had to thicken them. Created 3 slots for three different tilt angles. V2 - Thickness issue: With the new more robust hinges I no longer fit in the initial 2mm. I increased the thickness of the whole model from 2 to 3mm. I tried to make an anti-slip block recessed into the base, but it was too low and didn't do its job, the phone kept sliding. V3 - Stability: I made the two fold-out stands that hold the phone without letting it slide. I added a snap-fit lock for all moving parts, so when closed in the wallet it doesn't open by itself. V4 - Final CARDKICK: Reduced tolerance between different parts for more precise movement. Increased thickness of hooks and wings. Added CARDKICK name engraved on the left side of the card. Final modeling of the two side wings to prevent the smartphone from sliding.
img 📐 Technical specs - 📏 Dimensions: 85.6 x 54 x 3mm (credit card size) - 🔗 Print-in-place hinges: 2.5mm pin, 3.1mm hole. The hinges are intentionally visible, with a 0.3mm radial gap. That gap is not a defect, it's intentional: it lets air in and prevents the pin from fusing to the hole during printing. - 🔑 Keychain hole: 3mm diameter, centered at 3.5mm from the walls. 2.0mm of material remains around it, tear-proof. - ✍️ Logo and text: CARDKICK engraved 0.3mm deep on the left side. - 📲 Usable space for phone: 11mm between wings and back. ⚠️ Important note about tolerances and colors
🧪 During testing I noticed a difference in tolerances depending on filament brand and color. The first print in gold color was perfect with 0.3mm radial tolerance, but then I also tested black, gray and a light blue.
With black, gray and light blue, 0.3mm tolerances were too loose and wobbly. The perfect tolerances for these colors turned out to be 0.2mm radial, much more precise with no play.

For this reason I will publish only the final version with 0.2mm tolerance, which is the most universal and tested on the most used colors. I oriented the print on the front side to take advantage of the build plate texture and better highlight the engraved text. 🖨️ Recommended print settings - Layer: 0.2mm - Layer/wall overlap: 30% - Infill: 15-20% - Supports: NO - Perimeters: 3 - ⏱️ Estimated time: just over 30 minutes. If you enable ironing for a smoother top, time goes over 50 minutes. - 💡 Tip: if you use fast printers (Bambu, K1, etc), reduce print speed by at least 20% for the print-in-place hinges. 👍 Liked it?
