Sobre este modelo
The molecule behind your morning coffee, about 106 million times larger, standing on your desk. Every atom carries its engraved element letter, double bonds are visible, and the base shows the name and CAS number. Students can find the two rings, count the four nitrogens and spot the two C=O groups. Which file do I print? - G-code WITH SUPPORTS — one file each for Prusa MK4, Prusa MINI and Creality Ender-3 S1. Load the file named after your printer and print; the supports are inside. Each file works only on that printer (the MK4 file checks the printer model, so an MK4S will warn you — use the 3MF there). - 3MF project — any other FDM printer: open it in PrusaSlicer, choose your printer and slice; the support settings are in the project and the supports are created when you slice. - STL without supports — for your own slicer setup (settings in the PDF data sheet). - PDF data sheet — settings, support removal and licence on 4 pages.
You need PLA 1.75 mm, a 0.4 mm nozzle and a build plate of at least 125 × 125 mm with 90 mm of height (full settings under Print Settings). After printing, the thin tree supports are cut away with flush cutters; the pencil-shaped pillars are part of the model and stay. In the pictures the supports are orange and the pillars yellow — your print comes out in one colour. For the classroom: cut the pencils at their thin necks under the spheres and sand the small cones, and students can pass a free molecule around. Do it last and slowly (bonds are about 2 mm); this step is not yet confirmed by our own print. We need your Make This is a community test release — we have not printed this version ourselves yet, and every picture here is a render. Upload a photo, or just tell us what went wrong: letters readable? supports clean? anything broken? With your permission, we will feature your print on the model page at molgod.org — and, if you wish, credit you by name in the acknowledgements of our planned scientific publication on printable molecular models. We help with anything about this print until 26 November 2026: [email protected] Print it and post your Make.
