Sobre este modelo

Bromadiolone (C30H23BrO4, CAS 28772-56-7) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Read the atoms directly: each sphere bears an engraved element symbol.

Start with the ring system: Bromadiolone has five 6-membered rings, with one pair of rings fused along a shared edge, four of them aromatic; in total the model carries 62 bonds (37 single, 2 double and 23 aromatic). Hand the model round and let students tally the engraved atoms: 30 C + 23 H + 1 Br + 4 O, 58 in total. Functional groups to find on the model: phenolic hydroxyl group (Ar-OH), hydroxyl group (-OH) and C-Br bond. No R/S label is assigned here, although Bromadiolone contains two stereocentres: ask the class which arrangements are possible. Students meeting aromaticity and delocalised electrons, chirality, enantiomers and CIP (R/S) rules, fused ring systems, alcohols and hydrogen bonding, phenols and hydrogen bonding, as well as organohalogen compounds and carbon-halogen bonds for the first time can hold an example in their hands.

Free for education: MolGod.org publishes engraved molecular models for teachers, students and schools. Teachers: pass the model round at the start of the lesson, before showing any diagram.

A ball-and-stick model of Bromadiolone with each element symbol recessed into its atom sphere, generated by MolGod.org from a PubChem-computed 3D conformer (not an experimental crystal structure); atomic coordinates and connectivity are unchanged. STL mesh: 799,148 triangles, closed (watertight) single solid. Coordinates in ångström (STL stores no unit) — scale the model deliberately in your slicer.

Names in other languages: Bromadiolon (de); 溴敌隆 (zh).
