AURYN | The NeverEnding Story Amulet | 3D Printable Model

✨🐍 A little piece of Fantastica, made with care and brought to life by you 🐍✨ Some objects are more than just things we can hold in our hands. They carry memories, feelings and entire worlds within them. For me, AURYN is one of those objects. Its two intertwined snakes are instantly recognisable, but what makes this amulet truly special is the story, the wonder and the sense of adventure behind it. 💛🖤📖 This model is a personal tribute to The NeverEnding Story, a film that reminds us how powerful imagination can be. I have put a lot of heart into creating my own printable version of AURYN, and I hope you will enjoy printing, refining and painting it as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to life. ✨ 🌙 A journey through Fantastica When the Nothing begins to consume Fantastica, the Childlike Empress calls upon the young warrior Atreyu to help save her world. He sets out on a dangerous journey, carrying AURYN with him as a symbol of the Empress and the quest ahead. 🛡 Atreyu crosses the Swamps of Sadness, seeks wisdom from ancient Morla and faces many difficult moments along the way. Then he meets Falkor, the luckdragon, whose friendship brings hope when the journey feels almost impossible. There are frightening encounters, moments of sadness and unexpected kindness, but Atreyu keeps going. 🐉🌿✨ Meanwhile, Bastian follows the adventure from the pages of a mysterious book. Little by little, he discovers that the story of Fantastica may be connected to him too. The film is a beautiful reminder that courage, friendship and imagination can help us find a way forward, even when everything seems lost. 📚💫 That is the feeling I wanted this model to carry: the magic of AURYN, the courage of Atreyu and the hope that lives at the heart of Fantastica. 🌟 💛 AURYN, your way This is a standalone version of the amulet, without a chain, so the two intertwined snakes remain the centre of attention. Print it in the colours you love, display it as a fantasy keepsake, use it as part of a costume or create a special gift for someone who loves the film. 🐍🎁 You can print it in a single colour, paint it by hand or try a multicolour print. Every finish will give your AURYN its own character. 🌈 🎨 My favourite way to finish the print I love painting the snakes gold and silver to bring the amulet close to the look of the original. The contrast makes the intertwined design stand out and brings out the raised scales and little sculpted details beautifully. ✨ Paint markers are a wonderful way to do this by hand. I especially enjoy using Edding paint markers. They work very well for colouring the model and adding careful details to the scales. Take your time, follow the shape of the snakes and build up the finish patiently. The result can be truly beautiful. 🖊💛🖤 🧵 Material recommendation I printed my own version in PETG with glass fiber, and this is the material I recommend for my preferred finishing process. I really like the surface it produces, especially because it can be sanded and worked on before painting. That makes it a lovely choice if you want to refine the print and create a smooth, carefully finished result. 🧽🎨 You are absolutely welcome to use another material. PLA, regular PETG and multicolour printing are all options too. Choose what works best for your printer and the look you want to create. The material and colours are part of making the amulet your own. 🌈 🛠 Printing recommendations 🖨 Print the amulet upright in a vertical orientation for the best results. 🧱 Use 2 walls. 💯 Use 100% infill. 🌳 Use normal supports. 🎨 The 3MF file will include my manually painted support areas to help you prepare the print. 📐 You can adjust the scale to suit your printer or your preferred display size. 🧽 Please plan for hands on post processing I want to be completely open about this: the printed model needs post processing. I am not a master of 3D modelling, and this is a personal project that I have created with care while still learning. Please do not expect a perfectly finished, paint ready surface straight off the printer. After printing, you will need to remove the supports, clean up the print and sand the surface. Some small areas may need extra attention or adjustment before painting. Preparing the surface is an important part of getting the finished look you want, especially if you plan to use gold and silver paint. 🧰🧽✨ I will add photos of my own process, showing how I work on the print from support removal and sanding through surface preparation and painting.
