XL 3D Printed Arbor Press | No Support Our biggest press yet: more height, more throat depth, and a new herringbone drive. Our earlier presses are strong and get a lot done, but you can only fit so much under them. The XL keeps a drive that's about as strong and gives you a much larger working envelope. It's taller under the ram and deeper from the ram to the back of the frame, so bigger parts fit. Everything prints without supports and assembles with no screws, glue, or hardware. Why This Design Is Awesome: XL Work Envelope - Far more room under the ram and behind it than our previous press Herringbone Gear Drive - Helical herringbone rack and gear hold the ram where you put it instead of letting it drop Three-Arm Handle - There's always an arm in the right spot to pull, and the frame is tall enough for full revolutions Built-In Honeycomb Frame - Internal walls are modeled into the body, so it resists flex regardless of your infill Removable Press Block - The through-hole lets you drive pins out, and the block slides out so you can retrieve them Bolt-Down Ready - Counterbored mounting holes let you fix it to your bench No Supports Required - Every part is designed to print clean No Hardware Needed - Tight-fit T-slot feet lock in place with a printed cross pin Community Driven - The herringbone gear was suggested by a maker who downloaded one of our earlier presses Print Settings: Printer: Sized to the maximum of 256 mm-class beds (P2S, X1C, X2D, A1). It won't fit an A1 Mini. Supports: None Walls: 3, especially on the main frame, where the strength comes from Layer height: 0.2 mm Infill: 15–20% Filament: Close to a full roll, across multiple plates Print Orientation: Main frame: On its side, pockets and gear hole facing up Ram: On either side, so the teeth print horizontally (vertical teeth are weaker) Feet (×2): Outside face down, T-slot facing up Gear: Flange side down Drive shaft: Any side down Cover: Outside face down, posts facing up Cross pin: Flat on one side, printed lengthwise Removable block: Top face down Handle: Square pocket facing up What You'll Print: 1× Main frame 2× Feet 1× Gear 1× Drive shaft 1× Cover 1× Ram 1× Three-arm handle 1× Removable press block 1× Cross pin Great For: Pressing bearings and dowel pins into printed parts Driving pins out of assemblies Larger workpieces that won't fit under a compact press Complete Build Guide Design walkthrough, build plate setup, and assembly instructions: https://youtu.be/peeptNMn3_o Need something smaller?
