Sobre este modelo
A compact protective case for AMD AM4 processors. Every AM4 CPU (Athlon, Ryzen 1000 to 5000, G-series APUs, X3D) uses the same 40 × 40 mm package with 1331 pins, so one case fits them all. Built to protect the pins - The CPU sits heat spreader down in a pocket and is held by the edges of its substrate. The pins point up and touch nothing.
- The lid fits over an outer lip and never touches the CPU, so the force you use to open it never goes through the pins.
- A ring-shaped stop in the lid rests over the pin-free centre of the CPU: even upside down, the CPU can't drop onto its pins.
- A funnel above the seat guides the CPU down flat, and four finger notches let you pinch it back out by its edges.
- No foam, no hinge pin, no extra hardware: two printed parts and that's it.
Know what's inside - Label area under the engraving: 12 mm label tape (Brother, Dymo) or 12–15 mm thermal labels (Niimbot D11/D110).
- Spine label area for 9 mm tape, to find the right CPU when boxes are stacked or filed upright.
- No label maker? A strip of masking tape and a marker work just as well.
- The cut corner matches the CPU's gold triangle, and the lid only fits one way.
How to use Open the case with the side slots. Pinch the CPU by the edges of its substrate, using the finger notches. Put it heat spreader down with the gold triangle at the cut corner, then press the lid on. Printing - Already oriented: print both parts flat, no supports needed. PETG recommended.
- If your profile uses automatic supports ("Everywhere"), set supports to None or tick "Don't support bridges": the lid prints upside down, and the slicer would otherwise fill its label recess and engraving with supports. The recess floor prints as a short bridge (about 15 mm), which PETG handles easily.
- With PrusaSlicer's default profiles (Prusa CORE One / CORE One+ HF0.4, 0.20mm BALANCED, Generic PETG), the set takes about 47 min and 21 g of filament.
- Test-printed in PETG on a Prusa Core One+ with a Ryzen 5 4500.
Specs - Case size: 54 × 54 × 17 mm.
- Designed around the largest AM4 package allowed by AMD's specifications (4.9 mm without pins, 2.11 mm pins), with at least 0.8 mm of free space around the pins.
Files - Bottom and lid as STL
- A 3MF plate with both parts
