1800s Massive cannon — modelo 3D

1800s Massive cannon

por Christer Åström en Thingiverse

Here i have made a model cannon inspired by coastal defence cannons from the 1800's, massive iron behemoths that have a leaning rail for soaking up the recoil. My model is built with the "some assembly required" approach, one can if i've made my calculations correct have movable cannon, sliding gun.

Sobre este modelo

Here i have made a model cannon inspired by coastal defence cannons from the 1800's, massive iron behemoths that have a leaning rail for soaking up the recoil. My model is built with the "some assembly required" approach, one can if i've made my calculations correct have movable cannon, sliding gun carriage, rotating crane, rotating wheels, rotating base, spinning gear. This requires the separate parts and slight gluing. If this is abhorrent to you, i have provided a full model without moving parts. Instructions. 1: Get the 'base' first. 2: Get the 'bed', the 'gear holder', 'suspension' and the 'gear'. The gear will be put on the gear holder. The one will glue the gear holder to its place on the side of the bed, WITHOUT gluing the gear. Gear should spin freely. Suspension is glued in its spot in the front. The bed has 4 indents that should fit the base, thus one can lock it in place via bajonet lug fix. 3: Get the 'gun', the right and left 'carriadge' and the 'breech'. Breech and gun is glued together, the finished gun is fitted without gluing, while the carriadges are glued together without gluing the gun to them. Remember to not glue the carriadge separately. 4: Get the 'crane' and plop it into its hole. No glue required. 5: Print 2 'wheel's. Put them into their holes, in theory they should spin freely, but it's probably best to glue in place. 6: Print as many cannon balls as you like. 7: Et voilá! It is done. It will probably look best built into some terrain/scenery.
