Sobre este modelo

1,1'-Oxybis(4-nitrobenzene) (C12H8N2O5, CAS 101-63-3) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Read the atoms directly: each sphere bears an engraved element symbol. On a typical printed molecule every sphere is the same anonymous ball, since the STL file cannot transmit the usual colour convention. MolGod engraves the element symbol directly into every atom sphere, so the identity of each atom is part of the geometry itself. The purpose is educational: teachers get printable files built to shorten the step of 'which atom is this?' and leave more time for chemistry. For teachers it also saves preparation: the file is already modelled and labelled, so the only steps left are scaling and slicing. Teachers and researchers can find the project rationale and validation plan at https://molgod.org/engraved-molecular-models/. Ask students to describe the framework of 1,1'-Oxybis(4-nitrobenzene) before anything else: two 6-membered rings, both aromatic. Then count the bonds together; there are 28 (14 single, 2 double and 12 aromatic, drawn in Kekulé form). A five-minute warm-up: read the symbol on every sphere and write down the totals (12 C + 8 H + 2 N + 5 O = 27 atoms). Ask the class to locate the two nitro groups (-NO2) and the ether linkage (C-O-C) and name each one. Plan it into a unit on aromaticity and delocalised electrons. Place it beside Bis(p-nitrophenyl) phosphate (CAS 645-15-8) and 4-Nitroaniline (CAS 100-01-6) and ask students which features are shared and which are not. MolGod.org shares these models for free to make chemistry tangible in the classroom. Teachers: hand out printed copies and ask students to rebuild the structural formula from the model. Download it, print it and use it in your teaching. CC BY-SA 4.0 sets four simple conditions for anything you publish with it: credit "MolGod.org" as the model's author, link the original and the licence, say what you changed, and share derivatives alike. Copy the attribution line below to get it right. Nothing else is needed: no account, no cost, no compulsory feedback. Every comment helps the project grow. Write a review, ask a question or suggest an improvement for educational use, here in the comments or via https://molgod.org/contact/. Join the conversation: comments, questions and classroom stories are all welcome, and you can always contact us for anything more. All we need is a CAS number: from it MolGod generates the 3D structure, engraves every atom and prepares the STL.
